The DCC Championship was a 4 round, 2-day tournament in the years from 1972-1986.

From 1987 – 1991 there is no known record of a DCC Club Championship tournament.

According to Brian Wall, from 1992 – 2001 and 2013 – present, the DCC Championship was the January Tuesday Night tournament. From 2002-2012 there was a specified DCC Championship with the year in the MSA, with exception of 2008. Since the date of the 2007 Championship fell between the 2006 and 2009 ones, it is called 2007-08.

The tournament reports in the USCF database for some years do not reflect the January tournament as the club championship as many different TDs submitted the tournament over the years.

The 1992 tournament is the earliest Denver Chess Club Championship in the USCF online database (MSA).
